Responsibility
- Assist in the fabrication and characterization of semiconductor laser diodes using advanced cleanroom and laboratory techniques.
- Conduct experimental procedures, including epitaxial growth, lithography, etching, and metallization, to develop high-performance laser devices.
- Perform electrical and optical measurements to analyze device performance, such as threshold current, efficiency, and wavelength stability.
- Collaborate with senior researchers to design and optimize laser diode structures for specific applications, including telecommunications and sensing.
- Maintain detailed records of experiments, results, and observations in laboratory notebooks and digital databases.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain laboratory equipment to high operational standards.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in semiconductor technology and photonics through literature reviews and participation in conferences or workshops.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field (recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Hands-on experience with semiconductor fabrication techniques, such as photolithography, etching, or thin-film deposition, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with laser diode characterization tools, including optical spectrum analyzers, current-voltage (I-V) testers, and temperature-controlled measurement systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret experimental data and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW) and scientific writing tools (e.g., LaTeX, Microsoft Office).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards in laboratory practices and safety.
- Prior research experience or internships in semiconductor devices, photonics, or optoelectronics is a plus.
