Responsibility
- Conduct fieldwork and data collection in urban and natural watersheds, including water sampling, flow measurements, and ecological assessments.
- Assist in the design and implementation of experimental setups for monitoring water quality, sediment transport, and biodiversity.
- Analyze and interpret environmental data using statistical tools, GIS software, and modeling techniques.
- Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders and academic audiences.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including hydrologists, ecologists, and urban planners, to develop sustainable watershed management strategies.
- Maintain and calibrate field equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of collected data.
- Support grant writing and funding proposals by contributing to literature reviews and project justifications.
- Participate in workshops, conferences, and outreach activities to disseminate research outcomes and promote environmental awareness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Ecology, Geography, or a related field.
- Proven experience in fieldwork, data collection, and laboratory analysis in environmental or hydrological studies.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS) and GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Strong understanding of watershed processes, water quality parameters, and ecological systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse, multicultural teams.
- Physical fitness and willingness to conduct fieldwork in varying terrain and weather conditions.
