Responsibility

  • Supervise and review the preparation of Australian tax returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ATO regulations.
  • Lead a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Conduct tax research and analysis to address complex tax issues and provide strategic advice to clients.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, BAS, and other compliance documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting and finance, to streamline tax processes and improve efficiency.
  • Stay updated on changes in Australian tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to address tax-related inquiries and provide solutions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize benefits for clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Australian tax accounting, preferably in a public practice or outsourcing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements (e.g., ATO, GST, BAS, FBT).
  • Proven experience in supervising or leading a team of tax professionals.
  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., Xero Tax, MYOB, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
