Responsibility
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks Online, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Process and reconcile Shopify transactions, ensuring accurate recording of sales, fees, and payouts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings (sales tax, income tax), and 1099 preparations for contractors.
- Monitor cash flow, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective actions to maintain financial health.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support budgeting/forecasting.
- Maintain organized digital records and ensure data integrity across all financial systems.
- Stay updated on e-commerce accounting best practices and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years in U.S. accounting (preferably for e-commerce businesses).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (certification is a plus) and hands-on experience with Shopify accounting integrations.
- Strong understanding of U.S. tax regulations, including sales tax, income tax, and 1099 reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines in a remote setting.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Familiarity with payment processors (Stripe, PayPal) and e-commerce platforms (Amazon, WooCommerce) is advantageous.
- Clear, professional communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace in Bali.
