Responsibility
- Retrieve medical records from hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers using secure electronic systems or direct requests.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of retrieved records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other data protection regulations.
- Organize and digitize medical records in a structured format for easy access and reference.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, legal teams, and insurance companies to fulfill record requests promptly.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards when handling sensitive patient information.
- Track and document all record retrieval activities, including follow-ups and delivery confirmations.
- Resolve discrepancies or missing information by coordinating with relevant parties.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to medical records management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical records retrieval, healthcare administration, or a related field (minimum 1-2 years preferred).
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of data accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and basic data entry tools.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, or other data privacy regulations is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Medical Administration, or a related field is advantageous.
