Responsibility
- Review and analyze inpatient medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Identify documentation deficiencies and recommend improvements
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards and industry changes
- Participate in audits and quality assurance initiatives
- Utilize coding software and electronic health record systems efficiently
- Provide coding education and support to clinical staff as needed
Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient coding experience
- Proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy
