Responsibility
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain laboratory glassware, equipment, and instruments to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment to decontaminate biohazardous waste and reusable materials.
- Safely collect, segregate, and dispose of biological and chemical waste in accordance with hospital and regulatory protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work benches, storage areas, and laboratory rooms to prevent cross-contamination.
- Assist in the preparation of laboratory reagents, media, and solutions under supervision.
- Monitor and restock laboratory supplies, ensuring availability of essential materials for daily operations.
- Follow strict infection control and biosafety procedures to protect personnel and the environment.
- Document maintenance activities, waste disposal records, and equipment usage logs accurately.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; certification in healthcare or laboratory support is a plus.
- Prior experience in laboratory, healthcare, or housekeeping roles within a medical or research setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, waste management, and infection control practices.
- Ability to handle biohazardous materials safely and use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift moderate weights (up to 10-15 kg), and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and inventory management.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills in a multicultural environment.
