Responsibility

  • Prepare and lodge Australian tax returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts in compliance with ATO regulations.
  • Manage and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) accurately and on time.
  • Handle Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns, ensuring all calculations and reporting meet Australian tax standards.
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports using Xero.
  • Review and reconcile financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness before submission.
  • Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients, helping them optimize their tax positions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address client queries and resolve tax-related issues promptly.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CA qualification is a plus).
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Australian tax accounting, BAS preparation, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Xero and other accounting software (e.g., MYOB, QuickBooks).
  • Strong understanding of Australian tax laws, GST, FBT, and superannuation regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of financial data accurately.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex tax scenarios.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and team members effectively.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines and maintaining productivity.
