Responsibility
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in compliance with Australian GAAP and tax regulations.
- Process payroll and ensure timely, accurate payment of employee wages and superannuation.
- Assist with BAS (Business Activity Statements) and GST reporting for Australian clients.
- Collaborate with accountants to support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Monitor financial transactions and flag discrepancies for resolution.
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) to streamline financial operations.
- Provide clear, professional communication with clients and internal teams regarding financial data.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping, preferably with Australian clients or firms.
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, GST, and BAS requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks Online.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with reliable internet access.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) with strong communication skills.
- Certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, BAS Agent) is a plus.
- Experience working with clients across multiple industries is advantageous.
