Responsibility
- Review and analyze patient medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
- Identify and clarify diagnoses, procedures, and treatments through collaboration with physicians, coders, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assign appropriate diagnosis-related group (DRG) codes to ensure proper reimbursement and data integrity.
- Conduct retrospective and concurrent chart reviews to improve clinical documentation and coding accuracy.
- Educate healthcare providers on best practices for documentation to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and report on CDI performance metrics, including query response rates and documentation improvement trends.
- Stay updated on industry changes, coding guidelines (ICD-10, CPT), and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss documentation challenges and solutions.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Philippines or equivalent international certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in acute care, case management, or CDI.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
- Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and DRG coding systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with healthcare teams.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to work independently and in a hybrid environment with minimal supervision.
- Certification in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDIP or CCDS) is highly advantageous.
