Responsibility
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection with precision and care, adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and transportation of blood samples to maintain integrity and accuracy.
- Provide exceptional patient care, including explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort during blood draws.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Accurately document patient information and test results in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic testing.
- Monitor and manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Stay updated on the latest phlebotomy techniques, industry standards, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field; Registered Medical Technologist (RMT) license required.
- Proven experience as a Phlebotomist or in a similar role, preferably in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory setting.
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques, infection control, and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is a plus.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and laboratory information systems (LIS).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, as needed.
