Note: This position requires registration with a recognized counselling board (e.g., Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia or equivalent) and a valid work permit for Indonesia.
Responsibility
- Provide individual, couples, and family counselling sessions tailored to clientsâ emotional, psychological, and relational needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness).
- Conduct assessments to identify clientsâ mental health concerns and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, and group therapy sessions on topics such as stress management, parenting, and emotional resilience.
- Collaborate with local healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations to promote mental health awareness and referrals.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Stay updated on best practices in counselling through continuous professional development and training.
- Provide culturally sensitive support to a diverse clientele, including expats and locals, in a multilingual environment.
Qualifications
- Registered with Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia (or equivalent international counselling board) with a valid license.
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in counselling, with a focus on individual, couples, or family therapy.
- Fluency in English, Malay, and Mandarin (written and spoken) is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in conducting workshops, seminars, or group therapy sessions is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques (e.g., CBT, person-centered therapy, systemic therapy).
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and continuous professional development.
- Valid work permit for Indonesia (or eligibility to obtain one).
