Responsibility
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers.
- Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments to maximize revenue recovery.
- Conduct thorough audits of patient accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with billing regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and internal teams to address billing discrepancies and improve documentation.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and implement strategies to reduce outstanding balances.
- Stay updated on industry changes, including coding updates and payer policies, to ensure compliance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries related to billing and financial responsibilities.
- Generate and analyze financial reports to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in RCM, Medical Billing, Patient Financial Services, or Healthcare Collections.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
- Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex billing issues.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Effective communication skills to interact with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Certification in medical billing or coding (e.g., CPC, CPB) is a plus.
