Responsibility
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on rail tracks, tunnels, and third rail systems to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
- Inspect rail infrastructure for defects, wear, and tear, and report findings for timely repairs.
- Assist in the installation, repair, and replacement of rail components, including sleepers, fasteners, and track segments.
- Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot issues related to rail alignment, signaling, and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to plan and execute maintenance schedules and projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs for reporting and analysis.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and provide on-call support as needed.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in rail maintenance, track work, or a similar role in the transportation industry.
- Familiarity with rail infrastructure, including permanent way systems, tunnels, and third rail components.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for rail maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to rail maintenance and operations.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in challenging environments, including tunnels and outdoor sites.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow technical instructions and documentation.
