Responsibility
- Translate technical documents, reports, and manuals from Mandarin to English and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Provide real-time interpretation during meetings, conferences, and video calls with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to localize product specifications, research findings, and development updates for international audiences.
- Review and edit business correspondence, contracts, and marketing materials to maintain professional and culturally appropriate communication.
- Develop and maintain a terminology database for consistent use of industry-specific language across all translations.
- Assist in cultural consulting to ensure business practices and communications align with Chinese market expectations.
- Support cross-departmental teams in resolving language-related challenges in logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain operations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and linguistic nuances to enhance translation quality and relevance.
Qualifications
- Fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) with native or near-native proficiency in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Chinese Studies, or a related field; additional certification in translation is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in technical or business translation, preferably in manufacturing, logistics, or R&D sectors.
- Strong understanding of technical terminology in engineering, supply chain, or product development.
- Excellent proofreading and editing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., Trados, MemoQ) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Cultural sensitivity and strong interpersonal skills to facilitate effective cross-cultural communication.
