Responsibility
- Conduct in-depth research on packaging materials, trends, and technologies to inform product development.
- Design and prototype innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing packaging solutions tailored to client specifications.
- Collaborate with production, quality control, and sales teams to ensure seamless integration of new designs into manufacturing processes.
- Perform rigorous testing on packaging prototypes to evaluate durability, usability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Analyze cost implications of material and design choices, optimizing for both quality and budget efficiency.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and project timelines.
- Stay updated on sustainable packaging practices and incorporate eco-friendly materials and methods where feasible.
- Gather and incorporate client feedback to refine and improve existing packaging solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in R&D, product development, or packaging design, preferably in the manufacturing or logistics sector.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Adobe Illustrator.
- Strong understanding of material science, particularly as it relates to packaging (e.g., plastics, cardboard, biodegradable materials).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical data and trends.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with sustainability standards and regulations in packaging (e.g., ISO, FDA) is a plus.
