IAQ Group is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Shah Alam. As we continue to scale our operations and take on larger, more complex projects, we need a strategic thinker to manage costs, oversee contractual obligations, and ensure the financial success of our construction developments.
In this role, you will be the backbone of our project financials, working closely with project managers, sub-contractors, and clients. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our projects are delivered within budget without compromising quality. Responsibility
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BQ) for tender and construction phases.
- Manage the tendering process, including evaluation and recommendation of sub-contractor bids.
- Oversee post-contract administration, including interim valuations, variation orders, and final account settlements.
- Perform regular site visits to monitor progress and verify claims against work completed.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and standard forms of contract (e.g., PAM, JCT, FIDIC).
- Maintain detailed project financial reports and provide cost-to-complete forecasts to senior management.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a construction firm or consultancy.
- Proficiency in BQ software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of construction technology, building materials, and market rates in Malaysia.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
- Professional registration with BQSM or RISM is an added advantage.
