Responsibility
- Review and assess medico-legal documentation, including medical records, reports, and case files, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal and clinical standards.
- Collaborate with legal teams to provide clinical insights and expertise during case evaluations, depositions, and court proceedings.
- Develop and implement quality assurance protocols to enhance the integrity of medico-legal processes and documentation.
- Identify discrepancies, errors, or gaps in medical records and work with healthcare providers to resolve them.
- Support the development and refinement of legal tech tools by providing feedback on clinical workflows and documentation requirements.
- Conduct training sessions for legal and healthcare teams on best practices for medico-legal documentation and compliance.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, legal precedents, and clinical guidelines to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in handling sensitive medico-legal information.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent; active nursing license required.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a hospital, clinic, or medico-legal setting.
- Strong understanding of medico-legal processes, including medical record review, case evaluation, and legal documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies or inconsistencies in medical records.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and legal documentation software.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain clinical concepts to non-medical professionals.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with legal tech tools or a willingness to learn new technologies is a plus.
