Siong Construction & Engineering Pte Ltd is looking for a dedicated and strategic Purchaser to join our team in the Tuas industrial hub. Responsibility

  • Source and procure construction materials, hardware, and equipment from local and overseas suppliers.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing, favorable credit terms, and high-quality standards.
  • Generate and manage Purchase Orders (POs) and track delivery schedules to ensure zero downtime on project sites.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and maintain an updated database of approved vendors.
  • Coordinate with site managers and engineers to forecast material requirements and manage inventory levels.
  • Review and reconcile delivery orders, invoices, and purchase requisitions for accuracy.
  • Analyze market trends and price fluctuations to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to ensure timely payment processing and budget compliance.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within the construction or engineering sectors.
  • Proven negotiation skills and the ability to build strong, long-term relationships with suppliers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience with ERP or procurement software.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and cost-control.
  • Familiarity with the Tuas area or willingness to work in the West Region.
