Responsibility
- Source and procure construction materials, hardware, and equipment from local and overseas suppliers.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing, favorable credit terms, and high-quality standards.
- Generate and manage Purchase Orders (POs) and track delivery schedules to ensure zero downtime on project sites.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and maintain an updated database of approved vendors.
- Coordinate with site managers and engineers to forecast material requirements and manage inventory levels.
- Review and reconcile delivery orders, invoices, and purchase requisitions for accuracy.
- Analyze market trends and price fluctuations to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with the finance department to ensure timely payment processing and budget compliance.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within the construction or engineering sectors.
- Proven negotiation skills and the ability to build strong, long-term relationships with suppliers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience with ERP or procurement software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and cost-control.
- Familiarity with the Tuas area or willingness to work in the West Region.
