Responsibility
- Translate written documents, emails, and reports from Mandarin Chinese to Indonesian and vice versa with high accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
- Provide real-time interpretation during meetings, conferences, and negotiations between Chinese and Indonesian stakeholders.
- Localize business, technical, and marketing materials to ensure they resonate with the target audience while maintaining the original intent.
- Proofread and edit translated content to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to industry-specific terminology.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, HR, Sales) to ensure accurate communication of policies, contracts, and operational updates.
- Develop and maintain a glossary of terms and style guides to standardize translations across the organization.
- Assist in cultural consulting to help teams understand nuances in communication styles between Chinese and Indonesian business practices.
- Manage translation projects, including prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
Qualifications
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and Indonesian (written and verbal) with near-native proficiency in both languages.
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Chinese Studies, or a related field. Certification in translation (e.g., NAATI, ATA) is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of professional translation/interpretation experience, preferably in a corporate or international business setting.
- Strong understanding of business, technical, or automotive terminology (industry-specific knowledge is advantageous).
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in CAT tools (e.g., Trados, MemoQ) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness of Chinese and Indonesian business etiquette.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
