Responsibility
- Provide real-time Mandarin-English interpretation during meetings, presentations, and site visits to ensure clear and accurate communication.
- Translate written documents, including emails, reports, and training materials, maintaining cultural and contextual accuracy.
- Assist Chinese guests with cultural assimilation, explaining local customs, business etiquette, and social norms to facilitate smooth integration.
- Act as a cultural liaison between TE Connectivity’s local teams and international visitors, resolving misunderstandings and fostering collaboration.
- Prepare pre-visit briefings for guests, including logistical details, cultural insights, and key contacts.
- Support the organization of events and workshops for international stakeholders, ensuring language and cultural barriers are minimized.
- Develop and maintain glossaries and translation resources tailored to TE Connectivity’s technical and business terminology.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve cross-cultural communication strategies within the company.
Qualifications
- Fluency in Mandarin and English (written and verbal) with a neutral accent and strong command of both languages.
- Proven experience as a translator, interpreter, or cultural liaison, preferably in a corporate or international setting.
- Deep understanding of Chinese and Indonesian/Western business cultures and etiquette.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style to different audiences.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, International Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Familiarity with technical or manufacturing terminology (a plus, given TE Connectivity’s industry).
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support international guests across time zones.
