Responsibility
- Operate company lorries to transport steel materials to designated locations safely and efficiently.
- Ensure timely deliveries by adhering to scheduled routes and delivery timelines.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in optimal condition.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety protocols to ensure the safety of yourself and others on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to provide updates on delivery statuses.
- Assist in loading and unloading materials as needed, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly to the maintenance team.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a lorry driver, preferably in the manufacturing or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret maps, GPS systems, and delivery schedules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness to handle loading and unloading tasks as required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, if necessary.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
