Responsibility
- Operate 3-5 ton lorries safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods while adhering to scheduled routes and delivery times.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, distances traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure safe driving practices.
- Report any mechanical issues or accidents immediately to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring proper handling and securement.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a lorry driver, preferably with experience operating 3-5 ton vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and defensive driving techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret maps, GPS devices, and delivery schedules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and customers.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
