Responsibility
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including local and international cuisines, adhering to standardized recipes and portion control.
- Ensure all food items are stored, handled, and prepared in compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients where possible.
- Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients, and coordinate with the procurement team for restocking.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment, utensils, and workstations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely and efficient meal service during peak hours.
- Follow dietary restrictions and special meal requests to accommodate the diverse needs of the university community.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in an institutional or educational setting.
- Formal culinary training or certification from a recognized institution is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
