Responsibility
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, including espresso, pour-over, cold brew, and specialty drinks, adhering to WACo’s standards of excellence.
- Engage with customers warmly and professionally, providing personalized recommendations and ensuring a memorable experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station, equipment, and café area in compliance with hygiene and safety protocols.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies, and communicate restocking needs to management.
- Collaborate with the team to develop new drink recipes, seasonal menus, and promotional offerings.
- Operate cash registers, process payments, and handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Educate customers about coffee origins, brewing methods, and flavor profiles to enhance their appreciation.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on industry trends, brewing techniques, and customer service best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Barista (minimum 1-2 years preferred) or a strong passion for coffee with a willingness to learn.
- In-depth knowledge of coffee brewing methods, equipment (e.g., espresso machines, grinders), and milk steaming techniques.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a diverse, international clientele.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and maintain composure under pressure.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills for accurate transaction processing.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Certification in coffee (e.g., SCA) or food safety is a plus but not required.
