Responsibility
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, pour-over, and specialty drinks, with precision and consistency.
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing personalized recommendations and ensuring a memorable experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station, equipment, and service areas in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies, and communicate restocking needs to management.
- Operate the cash register, process payments, and handle transactions accurately while providing excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with the team to develop new menu items, seasonal specials, and promotional offers to attract and retain customers.
- Educate customers about different coffee origins, brewing methods, and flavor profiles to enhance their appreciation of our products.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures, including setting up equipment, restocking supplies, and performing end-of-day cleaning tasks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar role within the hospitality industry, with a strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask efficiently, and maintain composure under pressure.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems for accurate order processing and cash handling.
- Creative mindset with a passion for latte art, coffee innovation, and staying updated on industry trends.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in maintaining consistency in drink quality and presentation.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the cafe’s operating hours.
- Certification in coffee brewing or barista training (e.g., SCA) is a plus but not required.
