Responsibility
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Follow and refine recipes while ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, and place orders as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal specialties.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and proofers.
- Train and mentor junior bakers or kitchen staff on baking techniques and best practices.
- Adhere to production schedules to meet daily demand while minimizing waste.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef, or in a similar role, preferably in a hotel, resort, or high-volume bakery.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient properties, and food safety standards.
- Ability to read, interpret, and scale recipes accurately.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Creativity and attention to detail in decorating and presenting baked goods.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy ingredients or equipment (up to 25 kg).
- Familiarity with HACCP or other food safety certifications is a plus.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) to communicate effectively with the team and management.
