job description
Join Ambition Group Singapore as a Principal System Validation Engineer (PCIe) and lead the development of cutting-edge high-speed interconnect solutions in the heart of Bali. This is a unique opportunity to work on next-generation PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) technologies, ensuring seamless performance, reliability, and compliance in complex computing environments.
In this pivotal role, you will drive system-level validation strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and innovate validation methodologies to push the boundaries of data transfer speeds and efficiency. Your expertise will directly impact the scalability and robustness of enterprise-grade hardware solutions, making you a key player in shaping the future of high-performance computing.
Based in Bali’s vibrant tech hub, you’ll enjoy a dynamic work environment that blends professional excellence with the island’s inspiring lifestyle. Whether you're in Canggu, Ubud, or Denpasar, this role offers the perfect balance of career growth and work-life harmony.
Responsibility
- Lead the design, development, and execution of system-level validation plans for PCIe-based hardware, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCIe 4.0/5.0/6.0).
- Develop and automate test frameworks to validate performance, latency, power efficiency, and interoperability of PCIe devices.
- Collaborate with R&D, firmware, and hardware teams to identify and resolve system-level issues, from silicon to end-user deployment.
- Define and implement validation metrics and KPIs to measure system reliability, scalability, and throughput.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in high-speed serial link validation, signal integrity, and protocol analysis.
- Author comprehensive validation reports and present findings to stakeholders, including recommendations for design improvements.
- Stay ahead of industry trends by researching emerging PCIe and CXL (Compute Express Link) standards and integrating them into validation strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement in validation processes, tools, and methodologies to reduce time-to-market for new products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. PhD is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in system validation, with at least 5 years specializing in PCIe (or similar high-speed interconnects like NVMe, CXL, or InfiniBand).
- Deep understanding of PCIe protocol layers (Physical, Data Link, Transaction) and tools such as protocol analyzers (e.g., Teledyne LeCroy, Total Phase).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, C/C++, or similar) for test development and data analysis.
- Experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, and root-cause analysis using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and FPGA prototyping.
- Strong knowledge of signal integrity principles (e.g., eye diagrams, jitter, BER) and high-speed PCB design considerations.
- Familiarity with virtualization, cloud computing, or data center architectures is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills to drive cross-functional collaboration.
