Responsibility
- Lead the conceptual design, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering of port infrastructure, including terminals, berths, and cargo handling systems.
- Oversee project execution from planning to commissioning, ensuring compliance with international maritime standards (e.g., IMO, PIANC).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, safety, and environmental departments, to align engineering solutions with business objectives.
- Drive innovation in automation and digitalization (e.g., IoT, AI-driven logistics) to enhance port efficiency and sustainability.
- Conduct risk assessments and failure mode analyses to mitigate operational and structural risks in port facilities.
- Manage stakeholder relationships with government agencies, contractors, and global partners to secure approvals and funding.
- Develop and implement sustainability initiatives, such as green energy integration and carbon footprint reduction in port operations.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Maritime Engineering (or related field) from an accredited institution.
- 15+ years of experience in port, coastal, or heavy infrastructure engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale port or maritime projects (e.g., container terminals, bulk cargo facilities).
- Professional certification (e.g., PE, PEng, or Chartered Engineer) and familiarity with international design codes (e.g., Eurocode, ACI, AISC).
- Expertise in hydraulic modeling, geotechnical analysis, and structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, PLAXIS, STAAD.Pro).
- Strong project management skills (PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus) with experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with global teams, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Willingness to relocate to Bali, Indonesia (relocation assistance provided).
