Responsibility
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on port machinery, including cranes, forklifts, and loaders.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards during all maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize machinery performance and reduce downtime.
- Conduct emergency repairs to minimize operational disruptions at the port.
- Order and manage inventory of spare parts and supplies for port machinery.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior mechanics and operational staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably with port or heavy machinery.
- Certification in mechanical engineering, heavy equipment maintenance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, welding equipment, and hand/power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to work in outdoor conditions and lift heavy components.
- Familiarity with OSHA or other safety regulations for port operations is a plus.
