As a Port Engineer / Senior Port Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the maintenance, repair, and optimization of port facilities, equipment, and vessels. Responsibility
- Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and repair of port infrastructure, including docks, piers, and navigational aids.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure operational reliability and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with vessel operators, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with maritime safety and environmental standards.
- Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies for port development and expansion projects.
- Manage budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships for engineering supplies and services.
- Supervise on-site engineering teams and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on port operations, incidents, and improvement recommendations to senior management.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting port engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in port engineering, maritime operations, or a similar role (Senior level requires 8+ years).
- Proven expertise in port infrastructure maintenance, dockside operations, and vessel repair.
- Strong knowledge of maritime regulations (IMO, SOLAS, ISPS) and local/ international port authority standards.
- Proficiency in CAD software, project management tools, and engineering analysis software.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Indonesian (Bahasa) is advantageous.
