As a PLC Technician, you will be responsible for programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and associated industrial control systems. Responsibility
- Program, configure, and maintain PLC systems for production machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues in PLC-controlled equipment to minimize downtime.
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on automation systems and industrial machinery.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement improvements to existing PLC programs.
- Document all maintenance activities, modifications, and system configurations for compliance and reference.
- Monitor system performance and recommend upgrades or replacements for outdated components.
- Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance staff on PLC operations.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards in all automation-related tasks.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a PLC Technician or in a similar role within manufacturing or industrial automation.
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text) and familiarity with brands like Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi.
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in high-pressure environments.
- Familiarity with HMIs, SCADA systems, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, to support 24/7 production operations.
