Responsibility
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits for pharmacy services.
- Obtain and process prior authorizations for medications and treatments.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve authorization issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns regarding authorization status.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure timely processing of prescriptions.
- Monitor and follow up on pending authorizations to prevent delays in patient care.
- Assist in resolving billing and claims issues related to authorization discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in healthcare authorization, insurance verification, or pharmacy customer service.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in using healthcare management software and electronic health records (EHR).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
