Responsibility
- Prepare and bake a wide variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, and breads to the highest standards.
- Develop and innovate new dessert recipes, incorporating local and international flavors.
- Ensure all baked goods meet quality, presentation, and hygiene standards.
- Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, minimizing waste while maintaining stock levels.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to design seasonal dessert menus and special event offerings.
- Decorate and plate desserts artistically for fine dining presentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pastry kitchen in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Train and mentor junior pastry staff, sharing techniques and best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role, preferably in a high-end restaurant or hotel.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient properties, and pastry arts.
- Creativity and ability to develop unique, visually appealing desserts.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to consistency in taste and presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP is a plus).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with kitchen and service staff.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
