Responsibility

  • Prepare and bake a wide variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, and breads to the highest standards.
  • Develop and innovate new dessert recipes, incorporating local and international flavors.
  • Ensure all baked goods meet quality, presentation, and hygiene standards.
  • Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, minimizing waste while maintaining stock levels.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to design seasonal dessert menus and special event offerings.
  • Decorate and plate desserts artistically for fine dining presentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pastry kitchen in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Train and mentor junior pastry staff, sharing techniques and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role, preferably in a high-end restaurant or hotel.
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient properties, and pastry arts.
  • Creativity and ability to develop unique, visually appealing desserts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP is a plus).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with kitchen and service staff.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
