Responsibility
- Lead and mentor a team of pastry chefs, bakers, and assistants to deliver exceptional products daily.
- Develop and refine recipes for breads, pastries, desserts, and custom orders, ensuring consistency and innovation.
- Oversee daily bakery operations, including production scheduling, inventory management, and cost control.
- Maintain strict quality standards for all baked goods, conducting regular taste tests and visual inspections.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to source high-quality ingredients, with a focus on local and sustainable options.
- Design seasonal menus and special offerings to align with market trends and customer preferences.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health regulations.
- Handle client consultations for custom orders (e.g., wedding cakes, corporate events) and deliver tailored solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a pastry chef role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position (Head Pastry Chef, Executive Pastry Chef, or similar).
- Formal culinary education (e.g., diploma in pastry arts) or equivalent professional training.
- Proven expertise in artisan bread-making, French patisserie, chocolate work, and sugar craft.
- Strong knowledge of food costing, budgeting, and inventory management.
- Exceptional creativity and a portfolio showcasing innovative dessert designs or signature products.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-management skills.
- Familiarity with HACCP, ISO, or other food safety certifications is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
