Responsibility
- Conduct professional, hands-on pastry and cooking classes for individuals and groups, ensuring an engaging and educational experience.
- Develop and refine lesson plans, recipes, and teaching materials tailored to different skill levels, from beginners to advanced students.
- Demonstrate proper baking techniques, including mixing, shaping, baking, and decorating, while adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Provide personalized guidance and feedback to students, helping them improve their techniques and troubleshoot common baking challenges.
- Collaborate with the team to design seasonal or themed classes (e.g., holiday desserts, gluten-free baking, or Balinese-inspired pastries).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked classroom kitchen, ensuring all equipment and ingredients are prepared for each session.
- Stay updated on the latest pastry trends, techniques, and industry best practices to deliver cutting-edge instruction.
- Assist in marketing efforts by contributing content (e.g., social media posts, blogs) to promote classes and attract new students.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of professional experience as a pastry chef in a high-end bakery, hotel, or culinary institution.
- Proven experience in teaching or training (formal or informal) in culinary arts, with a passion for sharing knowledge.
- Strong expertise in classic and modern pastry techniques, including bread, cakes, chocolates, and plated desserts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse students in a patient, encouraging manner.
- Fluency in English (additional proficiency in Indonesian or other languages is a plus).
- Certification from a recognized culinary school (e.g., Le Cordon Bleu, CIA) or equivalent experience is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards is required.
