Responsibility
- Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all products meet specified quantity, quality, and presentation requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, and coordinate with the procurement team to maintain stock.
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols to maintain a clean and sanitary workspace.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan daily production schedules and meet deadlines.
- Innovate and suggest new pastry recipes or improvements to existing ones to enhance the menu.
- Train and supervise junior staff or assistants in pastry preparation and baking techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of production, waste, and other relevant data for reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume production environment.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient properties, and pastry arts.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow complex recipes and production guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining consistency in product quality.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy ingredients or equipment.
- Creative mindset with a passion for developing new and exciting pastry offerings.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Certification in food safety or culinary arts is a plus.
