Are you a skilled Partial Discharge Technician looking to advance your career in high-voltage (HV) asset testing? Our client, a leading provider of electrical infrastructure solutions, is seeking a detail-oriented professional to join their team in Bali, Indonesia. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical systems by conducting on-site partial discharge (PD) testing on HV assets using state-of-the-art equipment.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the maintenance and optimization of electrical networks across Bali’s key regions, including Canggu, Ubud, Denpasar, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, and Kuta. Responsibility
- Perform on-site partial discharge testing on high-voltage assets (transformers, switchgear, cables, etc.) using advanced PD detection equipment.
- Interpret test results and generate detailed technical reports for clients, highlighting potential defects or risks.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to recommend corrective actions based on PD analysis.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, industry standards (IEC, IEEE), and local regulations during all testing procedures.
- Maintain and calibrate PD testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Provide technical support and training to junior technicians or client personnel as needed.
- Travel to various sites across Bali (Canggu, Ubud, Denpasar, etc.) to conduct field assessments.
- Document all testing activities, including environmental conditions, equipment settings, and anomalies detected.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in partial discharge testing, high-voltage diagnostics, or similar roles.
- Proficiency in using PD testing equipment (e.g., TEV sensors, ultrasonic detectors, oscilloscopes).
- Strong knowledge of HV electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, and insulation materials.
- Familiarity with international standards (IEC 60270, IEC 62478) and local electrical safety regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Physical ability to work in field conditions, including climbing, lifting, and operating in confined spaces.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Bali as required.
