Responsibility

  • Provide friendly, efficient, and professional service at checkout counters, ensuring a seamless transaction process for customers.
  • Operate cash registers, process payments (cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments), and issue receipts accurately.
  • Assist customers with product inquiries, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program sign-ups.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area, including replenishing bags, brochures, and promotional materials.
  • Handle customer complaints or issues with empathy and problem-solving skills, escalating to management when necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members to minimize wait times and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Follow IKEA’s safety, security, and loss prevention procedures at all times.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on new systems, products, and customer service best practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; prior retail or customer service experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English (additional languages are a bonus).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays (as needed).
  • Strong attention to detail and basic math skills for handling transactions.
