Responsibility
- Oversee the daily operations of water utility systems, including pumping stations, treatment plants, and distribution networks.
- Monitor system performance and conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and industry regulations related to water quality and safety.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
- Respond to emergencies and coordinate with relevant authorities to resolve service disruptions.
- Prepare and submit reports on operational performance, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Train and mentor junior staff to ensure high standards of operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in water utility operations or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, distribution systems, and regulatory standards.
- Proven ability to manage projects, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders and team members.
- Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for monitoring and analysis.
- Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergencies as needed.
- Valid professional license or certification in engineering is a plus.
