Responsibility
- Assist in the preparation of operating theatres by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure all surgical tools are sterilized and ready for use according to hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to provide support during procedures, including passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical supplies, reporting any shortages or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in the post-operative cleanup and restocking of the operating theatre.
- Follow strict infection control and safety procedures to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Provide support in emergency situations, including rapid response to surgical needs.
- Document and maintain records of surgical procedures and equipment usage as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Operating Theatre Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Operating Theatre Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and operating theatre protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with medical staff.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in high-stress situations.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to patient safety and care.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.
