Responsibility
- Prepare and arrange operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies according to surgical requirements and hospital protocols.
- Conduct pre- and post-operative equipment checks to ensure functionality, sterility, and compliance with safety standards.
- Assist the surgical team by providing the necessary tools and equipment during procedures, ensuring seamless workflow.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical instruments and supplies, coordinating restocking as needed.
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced medical equipment, including surgical lights, tables, and monitoring devices.
- Adhere to strict infection control and sterilization procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic operating environment.
- Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons to anticipate and fulfill equipment needs during surgeries.
- Document equipment usage, maintenance, and any incidents or malfunctions for record-keeping and quality assurance.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Operating Theatre Technology, Nursing, or a related healthcare field.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an operating theatre or surgical setting, preferably in a hospital environment.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to operate and maintain complex medical equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in equipment preparation and setup.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, sterilization techniques, and surgical instrumentation.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, high-stakes environments while maintaining composure.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or equivalent is an advantage.
