Responsibility
- Provide expert perioperative care to patients, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.
- Assist surgeons and anesthetists during surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment and supplies are readily available.
- Monitor and maintain a sterile environment in the operating theatre to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and document all patient care activities accurately.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery.
- Educate patients and their families about pre- and post-operative care instructions.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training to stay updated with the latest surgical techniques and best practices.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to maintain high-quality care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
- Valid nursing license and registration with the relevant nursing board.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Operating Theatre Nurse or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and patient care standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick, accurate decisions in critical situations.
