Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and maintain operating envelopes to ensure safe and efficient process operations.
- Monitor and manage Interlock Override (IOW) systems, alarms, and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) bypasses to prevent unsafe conditions.
- Conduct gap analyses between design specifications and actual operating conditions, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and safety teams to align process limits with reliability and compliance standards.
- Perform risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential deviations and mitigate operational risks.
- Document and report on operating limit breaches, root causes, and preventive measures.
- Provide technical guidance and training to operational staff on safety protocols, alarm management, and SIS procedures.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies in process safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in process safety, operating envelope management, or industrial automation.
- Strong knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), alarm management, and IOW protocols.
- Experience with process hazard analysis (PHA), HAZOP studies, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen, HYSYS) and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEC 61511, API, OSHA) is a plus.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with a focus on safety and precision.
