Responsibility
- Perform live, on-site demonstrations of traditional hand-pulled noodle (la mian) techniques, showcasing the artistry and skill of noodle-making to guests and visitors.
- Prepare and pull noodles with precision, ensuring consistency in texture, thickness, and quality for each batch.
- Engage with guests in a professional and entertaining manner, explaining the history, cultural significance, and craftsmanship behind hand-pulled noodles.
- Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house teams to integrate noodle demonstrations seamlessly into the dining experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Develop and refine noodle recipes and techniques to enhance guest experience and align with the restaurantâs culinary vision.
- Train and mentor junior staff or apprentices in the fundamentals of hand-pulled noodle techniques, as needed.
- Participate in special events, private functions, and promotional activities to showcase the brandâs commitment to authentic culinary traditions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Handpull Noodle Specialist (La Mian Artisan) or in a similar artisanal noodle-making role.
- Demonstrated expertise in traditional hand-pulled noodle techniques, including stretching, folding, and pulling dough to achieve the desired texture and consistency.
- Strong performance skills and the ability to engage with diverse audiences in a charismatic and informative manner.
- Knowledge of Chinese culinary traditions, particularly the history and cultural significance of hand-pulled noodles.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin or Indonesian is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining focus and precision.
- Commitment to food safety, hygiene, and best practices in kitchen operations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the role.
