Responsibility
- Assist the engineering team in the maintenance and operation of the vessel's engine room.
- Perform routine checks and lubrication of machinery and equipment.
- Monitor and maintain proper levels of fuel, oil, and other fluids.
- Support the cleaning and upkeep of the engine room and related areas.
- Assist in the repair and replacement of faulty parts under supervision.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
- Document maintenance activities and report any issues to the chief engineer.
- Participate in emergency drills and respond to onboard emergencies as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Oiler or in a similar role on a vessel.
- Basic understanding of marine engineering principles and machinery.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in the maritime industry.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts and adapt to offshore conditions.
- Relevant certifications or training in maritime operations is a plus.
- Valid medical and fitness certificates for offshore work.
