Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and evaluate infection control policies and procedures in accordance with local and international standards.
- Conduct regular surveillance and audits to identify and mitigate infection risks within healthcare settings.
- Lead training programs and workshops to educate healthcare staff on best practices in infection prevention and control.
- Investigate and manage outbreaks, including data collection, root cause analysis, and reporting to relevant authorities.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure adherence to isolation protocols, hand hygiene, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
- Monitor and analyze infection control data, preparing reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Stay abreast of emerging infectious diseases and updated guidelines from organizations such as the WHO and CDC.
- Serve as a resource and consultant for infection control-related queries from staff, patients, and visitors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field; Master’s degree in Infection Control or Epidemiology is a plus.
- Valid nursing license with specialization or certification in Infection Control (e.g., CIC).
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in infection control or a related specialty.
- Strong knowledge of infectious diseases, antimicrobial stewardship, and healthcare-associated infection prevention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and influence diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools, with the ability to interpret complex infection control metrics.
- Familiarity with local health regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., JCI, ISO).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
