job description
Join Careervisors in Bali, Indonesia as an NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer and play a pivotal role in driving innovation within our client’s expanding manufacturing team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge product development, from prototyping to full-scale production, in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic industrial hubs.
As an NPI Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including R&D, production, and quality assurance—to ensure seamless transitions from concept to market-ready products. Your expertise will help optimize manufacturing processes, reduce time-to-market, and maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Bali offers a vibrant work-life balance, combining professional growth with a tropical lifestyle. If you’re passionate about engineering excellence and eager to make an impact in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you.
Responsibility
- Lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from design validation to mass production, ensuring alignment with technical and business requirements.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and production teams to refine product designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and implement test protocols, DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and process validation plans to mitigate risks.
- Optimize manufacturing workflows, including tooling, assembly, and automation, to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality materials and components while negotiating cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor and analyze production metrics (yield, defect rates, cycle times) and propose continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, IPC) and regulatory requirements for product safety and performance.
- Provide technical support to resolve production issues and drive root-cause analysis (RCA) for defects or delays.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or product development within a high-volume production environment.
- Proven track record in transitioning products from prototype to mass production, preferably in electronics, automotive, or consumer goods.
- Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly), lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), PLM systems, and statistical tools (Minitab, JMP).
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and certification processes (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge gaps between technical and non-technical teams.
