Responsibility
- Conduct comprehensive cost estimation and analysis for new product introductions (NPI) to ensure financial viability.
- Prepare and present accurate quotations for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and finance teams to align cost structures with project goals.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality or performance.
- Develop and maintain cost models and databases for ongoing and future projects.
- Support supplier negotiations by providing cost benchmarks and financial insights.
- Monitor and report on budget adherence throughout the NPI lifecycle.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and manufacturing processes to enhance costing accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in costing, NPI, or manufacturing engineering, preferably in the electronics or technology sector.
- Strong proficiency in cost analysis tools, Excel, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate cost data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
