If you’re passionate about metallurgy and eager to make an impact in a high-impact industrial setting, we want to hear from you.

Responsibility

  • Develop, implement, and optimize metallurgical processes to enhance product quality, durability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough material analysis, including chemical composition, mechanical properties, and microstructure evaluations.
  • Oversee quality control procedures, ensuring all products meet international standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO) and customer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot metallurgical defects, root-cause failures, and propose corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and engineering teams to introduce new alloys, heat treatments, or manufacturing techniques.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in metallurgy and materials science.
  • Train and mentor junior staff and technicians on metallurgical testing, inspection, and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CMet, P.E.) are a plus.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in metallurgy, preferably in manufacturing, foundries, or heavy industry.
  • Proven expertise in material testing (spectroscopy, hardness testing, metallography, SEM/EDS) and failure analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of steel, iron, and alloy production, heat treatment processes, and casting techniques.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in metallurgical software (e.g., Thermo-Calc, FactSage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills (e.g., Indonesian) are advantageous.
